Arte was in Sète recently for a program dedicated to Georges Brassens Between the Etang de Thau and the Mediterranean Sea, Sète is open to the sea.
Nicknamed “the little Venice of Languedoc”, it is bathed in influences from the Camargue, Spain and Italy.
Georges Brassens was born in one of the port’s working-class neighborhoods.
The singer-songwriter of over two hundred songs remained faithful to his city throughout his life.
